As we approach winter and energy prices get hiked by those robbers in British Gas I feel deep joy when I can heat the fire with free logs from my garden. However, splitting logs is not that easy. It is hard work and quite dangerous unless you are an experienced lumberjack.

What a great bit of kit this is. It applies 6 tons of force to push a log against a splitting wedge and within seconds , hey presto, your log is in bits. I now have a log store full of free fuel. Well it’s not that free as I have had to buy the kit but it is deeply pleasing to not have to pay to warm the room…and a log fire is so nice to sit in front of.

If you haven’t got Evernote, get it. It is a browser’s dream.
If you see something you want to go back to, click the elephant head button and you save it for later reference. Evernote then stores the URL or an article or a page for later use.
It is that easy and great to just capture stuff that you might otherwise forget about.
On an Ipad you need both the Evernote app and the Memclip app.
Very much I likey these tools and the guys behind them are to be congratulated on such a simple yet useful app. And it’s free, too.
